Why India Is Completely Right To Call Out The Oic And Stop Playing Diplomatic Games

Every single time world leaders gather at the United Nations, a predictable ritual happens behind the scenes. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation releases a statement on Jammu and Kashmir, echoing whatever script Islamabad hands them. New Delhi fired back again this week, and honestly, it is about time someone called out this absurd diplomatic charade.

The Ministry of External Affairs didn't hold back. They categorized the OIC as a "so-called" entity with zero standing to lecture India on domestic affairs. If you look past the formal diplomatic language, the message is simple: stop acting as a megaphone for Pakistani propaganda while ignoring actual crises on your doorstep.

Let us be completely honest about what the OIC is doing. It operates as a bloc that routinely lets Pakistan hijack its platform. Instead of focusing on real human rights issues, member states sign off on boilerplate communiqués drafted in Islamabad. New Delhi's spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, pointed out the obvious reality. Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are internal parts of India. No amount of recycled talking points at the UN General Assembly changes that map.

Why does the OIC keep doing this? Habit, mostly. And poor governance within the bloc itself.

Instead of pointing fingers across South Asia, the bloc should look at what is actually happening in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. While Islamabad wastes energy manufacturing UN resolutions, PoJK has been burning with local protests for months. Inflation is crushing everyday citizens. Essential commodities cost a fortune. Internet services have been blocked for over three months straight in parts of the region, trapping students and choking local businesses.

Local human rights monitors in PoJK have raised alarms over hundred-day protest cycles in places like Rawalakot, Poonch, and Sudhnooti. People are sick of the uncertainty. They are tired of high electricity tariffs and broken infrastructure. Yet, the OIC Contact Group stays completely silent on these local struggles. They express solidarity with Islamabad's elite while ordinary citizens in the territories under Pakistan's control face internet shutdowns and skyrocketing fuel prices.

New Delhi’s foreign policy stance on this has hardened for a reason. Counter-terrorism operations don't happen in a vacuum. When cross-border attacks claim innocent lives, like the tragic incidents that forced robust security responses, India answers with action. The OIC chooses to ignore the root cause of the region's instability, which remains cross-border terrorism orchestrated from territories under Pakistani control.

By continuing down this path, the OIC hurts its own global credibility. Major international bodies take note when a multi-nation bloc behaves less like an objective forum and more like a regional proxy. If the organization wants any real respect on the world stage, it needs to stop letting single-country agendas dictate its resolutions.

Ignore the noise coming out of New York diplomatic rooms. Watch the ground reality instead. The OIC can issue a thousand statements, but it won't rewrite a sovereign nation's borders or hide the domestic unrest brewing right next door.
